Interlinc Communications
Embracing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Interlinc Communications, one
of Jamaica's leading integrated media agencies, has
committed to incorporating Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) as a fundamental strategy and
part of its business practices beginning with the
2008 business year.
The commitment comes on the
heels of an Organization of American States (OAS)
training workshop held in Bridgetown Barbados in
November 2007, at which the company's President and
Chief Executive Office, Marcel Robinson was an
invited participant.

Corporate Social Responsibility
is a strategic approach to doing business that
incorporates social, economic, cultural and
developmental investments & processes, that achieve
a win/win solutions for all stakeholders, including
the shareholder of the business, the employees, the
community, the country and regional partners. The
workshops focused on implementing CSR among SME's in
the CMSE.
Interlinc Communications, has
embraced CSR as a positive and productive way of
doing business. While we have implemented CSR
Strategies in the past, without necessarily
determining or labeling these activities as CSR, as
evidenced by our involvement with community
development project such as the Jamaica Crime Stop
Programme, our very own Technology Support
Initiative, support for ICT development projects in
Jamaica, the CSR workshops in Barbados were crucial
to understanding where we currently stand as a
company and what we should do to take this
initiatives further.
Coming out of the workshops,
Interlinc's CEO, Marcel Robinson, has mandated that
the company will be CSR compliant by the end of 2009
with formal CSR programmes beginning in 2008.
The company has also committed
to working with regional and international partners,
to help advocate CSR as a strategy for businesses
working within the region. Interlinc Communications
will begin to promote CSR Strategies to its clients
in 2008 as another link in our value added chain.
